My research is on the interactive visualization and visual analytics. I design and implement methods and workflows for interactive visual analysis of large, complex, and high-dimensional data for various applications. One main application is biology and immunology, for which we build the Cytosplore platform. Cytosplore is a framework for visual analysis of single cell data acquired using Mass Cytometry. The data consists of high dimensional expression data for single cells taken through blood- or tissue samples. Currently, I also work on applications in visual arts and cultural heritage and industrial applications.
Previously I worked on visualization of ensemble data and uncertainty, mostly for ocean forecasts, but also in other geological and geophysical applications. I developed Ovis, a framework for visual analysis of ocean forecasts.
Available Master Thesis Projects
I have open projects within the area of Visualization, Visual Analytics in a spectrum from method research, particularly in the area of dimensionality reduction to applied research, for example in the Cytosplore project. If you’re interested in working with me on this or other projects involving biological visualization for your master thesis project, please contact me directly.
