Schedule
The GPU workshop will follow more or less the following schedule:
09:45 - 10:30 Introduction
- Introduction to the Graphics Processing Unit (The how and why of GPU programming)
- What can a GPU do for your applications
- Which toolkits are available, from highlevel to lowlevel
10:30 - 10:45 Break
10:45 - 12:30 Workshop morning session, 15 minute break at 11:30
The first part of the workshop will be an interactive session, in which the participants can get some hands-on experience in shader programming.
- Working with the basic graphics pipeline, rendering and shading
- Examples of simple image processing operations
12:30 - 13:45 Lunch
13:45 - 16:00 Workshop afternoon session, breaks at own discretion
The second half of the workshop covers the more advanced topics, depending on the level of experience of the participants.
- Volume Rendering
- A quick overview of general purpose computation methods on the GPU
