Geometric and Feature Modelling
One of the fields the Computer Graphics and CAD/CAM group is active in, is geometric and feature modelling. This research is supervised by dr. W.F. Bronsvoort.
In the research on geometric modelling, techniques are being developed to model and display 3D objects, in particular CSG and sweep models.
In feature modelling, product models contain more than geometric information only, e.g. the function of some part of the product for the end-user or the way some part of the product can be manufactured or assembled. Feature modelling is based on advanced geometric modelling, such as parametric and constraint-based modelling.
Our main areas of interest in feature modelling are:
Nearly all developed techniques are implemented in the prototype multiple-view feature modelling system SPIFF.
